The headline in the newspaper read, ‘Girls admitted in the cancer hospital less than boys..’ Do girls really fight cancer better?? Are they less affected by the cancer?? Does their fighting spirit help??
If all the toppers in std 12 th are girls, where do they go later?? Which courses do they opt for?? Why are certain subjects still dominated by boys?? What about the glass ceiling?? Why are administrative posts more manned by men?? Have we taught our girls to be submissive???
Questions which have no easy answers. If we consider all the girls taking education in schools & colleges, various universities, we feel so proud. The work of various social reformers has borne sweet fruit, but are capable of taking their own decisions?? Does the family influence career choices??
Recently a doctor was found dead. Her husband had murdered her but reported her disappearance. He had tried to remove all traces from the accident spot. Her body had been burnt in her car, leaving her charred bones!
An educated, working doctor married to a capable man meets such an end?? The reason being family dispute! Can we sit & sort things before moving on to violence??? From where does this notion of killing someone come ? We think twice before stepping out in the rains for fear of killing an ant or an earthworm around! A snail or some other worm crawling… how can a human be beneath a worm???
Such toxic events kill our mornings & makes us think of what the world is coming to?? The injustice leveled at women in general is common. A common occurrence that women are to be made aware of it. They get so used to it!
