It is a 2016 film. Directed by Rob Burnett it is a peep into the work of a caregiver. A writer retires after a personal tragedy & takes up the job of caregiver to a disabled teen. When they go for a trip to the greatest pit in the world, the journey opens up some old wounds & also they start understanding the importance of hope & friendship in their lives.
Paul Rudd, Craig Roberts, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Ehle make up the cast. The transformation of Ben & Trevor after the journey is good. Gomez comes in as a fresh breeze in their lives.
It is based on the 2012 novel ‘The revised fundamentals of Caregiving’ by Jonathan Evison. May not be the best film but makes you think. That is the success of the film. Why do we evaluate with success ? It is work in progress. Life has always been.
‘ALOHA ‘ the principals taught to them. Ask, Look, Observe, Hear & Ask are the fundamentals for the caregivers.
A good film. Nice effort.
