Brazen

A 2022 film based on ‘Brazen Virtue’ by Nora Roberts. Now she is one of my fav authors so naturally I followed it on TV. A short film with mystery writer Grace Miller finding her younger sister dead in the house. It needs her expertise with help from her neighbour, the detective Ted.

Director Monika Mitchell has tried to bring out the elements out of the novel. But of course when we read, we imagine. When it is picturised a few details are lost. ‘Lost in translation’ rather ‘lost in transition’ more like.

The thriller may not give the chills but makes us think of the media & how the children have made it their ‘toy’! The limitless boundaries can easily be crossed by any child. There are no limits.

But then it is a tale of any parent, brother or sister. How will you monitor your kids? We had a Marathi movie ‘Ti sadhya kay karte?’ A boy wondering what his college mate & first love is doing now? After years of being apart he comes to the city & wonders.

Another Marathi TV show ‘Tumchi Mulgi kay karte?’ what does your daughter do? Do the parents know? really?? Honestly??

It reflects the kids all over & the parents clueless to what they do. ‘What women want’ may be easy but ‘What children want?’ is tough. Overexposure to the media is a common threat to all the children all over the world!
