Rain or Shine

It is also known as ‘Just Lovers’. But this title is a bit too cheesy. Another is ‘Just Between Lovers’ it is also something we can’t suddenly relate to. The story evolves too slowly. So going by ‘Rain or Shine’ is the best option. Could have been ‘Sunshine ‘instead of ‘Shine’ but that is the most apt title.

Into the 13th episode & I loved the way the end comes. If… shows the scenario of what could have been. Lee Kang doo becomes a Soccer player & is responsible for the final goal which changes the result. Korea’s win, appreciated by Ha Moon soo who is watching it on her cell phone. Being an Art Director she has fulfilled her dream. Seo Joo -won & Jung Yoo-jin are enjoying the game on TV, sitting at a table in a amicable way. They appear to be a couple. A smiling Seo Joo won is a pleasant sight.

What could have been… we wish! The dark clouds on the everyday life of the survivors is so sad. I hope they stop at a positive note. The indications of an impending emergency with the nose bleed seems more a possibility. His sister being a doctor is a plus.

Nam Da reum as the young Lee Kang-doo is excellent.From ‘Boys Over Flowers’ to the latest ‘Start Up’ or ‘Doom at your Door step’ he is as good as any leading actor. He needs a main role now.

Park Si-eun as the youngHa Moon -soo is another actor I love. From ‘Pride & Prejudice’ to the latest ‘Mystic Popup Bar’ she is a presence to recon. Her flawless skin, innocence, acting in ‘Queen for seven Days’ was the excellent foil for Park Min young ! I love them both!!

Han Seo jin as Moon’s younger sister. From 2012 she has made her appearances in various dramas.In ‘Goblin’ as young Kim Go-eun to the 2021 drama ‘Move to Heaven’ as Minji she is making waves. Small roles that are significant.

Yoon Yoo sun as Moon soo’s mother & Nam Gi-ae as Joo won’s mother are veterans. They must have done these roles for years. They are seasoned actors. The length of their role is never important. They make their roles memorable. Everytime.

The time when you become close to all the characters is also the time when they are going to say ‘Goodbye’. Another show will have them in another role but our associations will remain. Only three more episodes & it’s over. It was good till it lasted.
