Raan

It is a short film made by Angry Owl production. It premiered on 24 Aug.2021.It is adapted by Roald Dahl’s ‘lamb to the slaughter’.

She is waiting for her husband. He comes late & doesn’t want dinner. Instead tells her he is interested in someone. He cannot live without her. The wife is pregnant. Simran. She gets angry. She strikes him & he falls down. Dead.

The events are swift & scary. Before you know all is over.

It reminds of “Haseen Dilruba’ but it has a built up & too many issues have been dealt with. A love triangle. A misfit couple. The in-laws. Murder & love forever. Police. arranged Marriage. Tattoo with her name on his hand,etc.It is a 2 hour 16 min film released on 2 July 2021.

The weapon is the same & the execution similar. But the stories have their own flavour.

The raan is not a mere roast leg of mutton. It is often called ..a leg of lamb. But Indian recipes call for goat-which is the point of the dish. Hence, the name ‘Raan’!
