A 2021 Comedy film that comes with a pinch of salt. The viewers are made to think of their lives as we forge ahead. There are some scenes that I felt were unnecessary. But the helpness of the father gets to us.
Three spoiled siblings are forced to earn their living after their father tells him he has lost everything & police are after him. They leave in a hurry. He drops their cell phones so the can’t communicate.
The girl serving tables, the fat boy driving tuk tuk & the lazy son helping his father to restore their old house. They earn money for their food & when they eat the humble pie life starts meaning something!
In the process the father learns he has been running away from the home, lamenting over his wife’s death. He is earning but no being attentive to his kids. They yearn for something more than money!
I reminded me of ‘Schitt’s Creek’ of 2015 with 6 seasons has a similar theme. A married couple going bankrupt & the only asset is the small town, Schitt’s Creek! Their son & daughter get a reality check.
Francis Bartek’s family in Monaco in this film gives an inside view of the loaded & the mighty. In stark contrast is their house in Marsellis. Camille Lou, Louka Meliava,Gerard Jugnot,Victor Artus Solaro with others form the main cast.
An enjoyable experience. It gets better as the story proceeds.
