Most Eligible Bachelor

A 2021 Indian Telugu film written & directed by B. Bhaskar. The film stars Akhil Akkineni & pooja Hegde. Music by Gopi Sundar.Running time is 150 minutes.

It is a story of an NRI who comes to India to wed. His parents have shortlisted 20 girls & he has to finalise the bride! He has to return a horoscope & photo to a girl whose horoscope doesn’t match. How difficult can it be? The photo gets lost & the girl refuses to give him another.

He gets to know her & he is fascinated. His belief that he is the ‘most eligible’ gets a jolt. She asks him questions that he is unable to answer. He had boasted of his clear thinking but gets all muddled. He meets the other girls but keeps on finding Vibha in them! He realises too late that he cannot marry anyone but Vibha!

He goes back empty handed but comes back after many months to convince her, woo her to marry. She doesn’t believe in marriage. So he has a tough task.

The film is too long. It has some patches really good but they leave us wanting for more. The conversations between the leads are interesting. But very few! Covering the entire family is a task. It was a given yet has been never a n issue in the olden times. Should have been managed.

Editing needed to be sharp. Losing a few reels could have been better. Pooja Hegde dazzles. But overdose kills. Songs should have helped the film to progress, it falters.

Born to Nagarjuna & Amala, Akhil has the best genes. He needs a better project. So does Pooja. They have the potential.
