Vir Das in news is nothing unusual. He is popular, well known & liked by all. His jokes have a flair. But he is in news presently for his remarks. His comment ‘Two Indias’ is being under scanner. Kangana again in arms & a whole lot written about it.
Now, in a ceremony or in parties we all look forward to the joy & happiness it spreads. The jokes then are .. sometimes not palatable. But we just let them slide. Look at the humour, intent & just sit back.
It is not like an individual is criticizing our country. In a lighter vein, we should be able to tolerate someone else’s point of view. You don’t like it . Fine. But we cannot compromise on the individual’s views. It is a free country. We have our own opinions. Out of context any word or sentence can be made to mean something else.
His tweet tells us he definitely loves his country. He is an upright citizen. Why blame him for airing his views? I am aware under ‘artistic liberty’ sometimes too much liberty is taken in films. But who decides ‘too much’??
Shobha De saying ‘we need both Kangana & Vir’. I agree. Let’s be brave & open our hearts to all that is said. We are proud of our country & will be in the future. Anyone saying something else will only strengthen our belief! We differ, we grow.
Where is our humour?? Why can’t we be receptive to different views ?
I believe… let on the onslaught ,we are tough enough to withstand all!!
