A 2021 Comedy drama that I am watching still. Why? I want to finish it. But it so drags that it will need my extraordinary effort.
The theme is interesting.As the first woman of colour to be made head of the English dept at a prestigious university, the hurdles in front of her are many. Dr Ji-Yoon Kim faces extreme demands & high expectations.
With just 6 episodes it should have been lighter & crisp. The jokes just don’t feel like jokes. Humour that is lined by some prejudice is just not it. A clean comedy would have been just excellent. They had the opportunity but wasted.
The stars Sandra Oh, Jay Duplass, Bob Balaban & others have done their job but the writing fails. Could have been an interesting show!
