A 2018 Mystery thriller that could have been better. With solid cast of Anna Kendrick,Blake Lively, Henry Golding & others. Stephanie gets friendly with Emily. Emily’s husband Sean is in London. Emily asks her friend to babysit her son & disappears.
Stephanie then takes to her vlog & distributes flyers to find her friend. Emily had lied about going to Miami, her drowned body is discovered in the lake at a summer camp in Michigan.
Stephanie shares Emily’s husband’s grief & they start liking each other. Predictable & not so predictable turns later there is a final showdown. The dark comedy just makes for a quick viewing without real suspense.
It is frilly, feakle, fake (flimsy, yes) flaky … what more.. filthy too. With the nudity that did not really help. The story could have been stronger with finer editing.
