It is a 1968 Indian Hindi language film by R. Krishnan & S. Panju. It is a remake of the 1965 Tamil film. It is based on the 1961 American Film ‘The Parent trap’. This film is based on Erich Kastner’s 1949 German novel “Lottie & Liza”
It was a major hit & revitalised the career of its lead actor Biswajeet. He has Mala Sinha, Mehmood, Om Prakash & Neetu Singh in the double role. It is a family drama with the children bringing their parents together. With a little help of the divine Balaji.
Tumhari Nazar kyon… by Lata Mangeshkar & Mohd. Rafi is a gem. Bachche mann ke sachche.. also is remembered till date. The rest of the songs are okay.
AVM had a good name then & remains so with so many good movies to be proud of. The photography, sets look so tacky today. But one marvels at the scenes where both are sisters are together.
Neetu Singh has a done an excellent job! And yet she was refused the ‘Bobby’ role. In the next movies she was the “Partner” for Rishi Kapoor…. in films & in his life!
