Crime stories: India Detectives

Cameras follow the police investigation & it is bang in the face. The second story begins with a body in a sack. The roads & the nearby galleries show people standing to get a glimpse. A mother is crying. She is blaming her daughter-in law & her mother for her son’s death.

The police arrest them & detain them.There is no no evidence. The CCTV footage is seen by the team. They strain their eyes till they find that the neighbour passes by twice. They ask him. He was out to buy milk.

The policeman says we have to be stern with innocent people in our investigation. Till otherwise proved no one is innocent. After they go for 200 meters coverage they come across Santosh, the deceased walking in a house but never coming out. There is a rickshaw parked outside.

The house belongs to Manju, another neighbour. He is also seen in the footage. He comes out with his wife, Savithri. They bring a sack out. As the footage shows the sack is carried in the rickshaw.

The police arrest the couple. They confess their crime. Santosh had been blackmailing them. He also had some photos of the couple he wanted to make public. Tired of his threats they decide to kill him. They send their two boys to the grandmother & go to work. They call him to their house.

The policeman knows they were angry but now their son’s future is at stake. They have lost their parents. Convicted for murder they will remain in jail for years.

The wife of Santosh, Yamuna, only 19 years of age & her mother are released. They have done no crime. Only to be associated with a wrong person. The policeman advices her lead a honest & happy life. “Body in a Bag” has a lot to teach.

The inspector says, ‘Normal people lead normal lives. They are not murdered.’ That sets him to think of the deceased’s record which shows his assets & also that he has been in a case for sexual harassment.
