It is a 2021 Indian Biographical film based on the life of Indian actress-politician J. Jayalalithaa. It stars Kangana Ranaut as Jayalalithaa & Arvind Swami as M.G. Ramachandran. It is directed by A.L.Vijay.

It was shot in Hindi & Tamil simultaneously. It is written by k. V. Vijayendra Prasad,Madhan Karky & Rajat Arora ( Hindi). Made on a budget of 100 crores, it has made 4.75 crores in it’s first week.

Not easy to make a biopic with such big stars & come up with all the authentic events in one’s life. A slight deviation brings in a huge backlash. Jayalalithaa in her life had reached the zenith of success, Amma as she was often called.

The scenes between the leads have been handled delicately. His words that stood by her have been highlighted. He encouraged her to enter politics. “If you give love to the people, they will love you back”. She started with the mid-day meals in school & gained support of the children & the parents alike.

She spread her wings & then never looked back. The support she gained from her mentor was legendary. A great person indeed.

The film brings out the best & ends with her becoming the chief minister. Her struggle to succeed is one that everyone can identify with.
