The series is now poised where we are getting to know about the mental state of the main leads.I applaud for both the leads to take up such difficult roles.Also labelling occurs as fast, yet they are brave to portray the mental states so convincingly.
Jo In-sung is superb in his role. I had started with his show, “That winter,the Wind Blows” but found something else & left it. Now, I am planning to go for it again. He has won the couple award for this show with Gong Hyo-jin.
Gong Hyo-jin from ‘When the Camellia blooms’ & here too is feisty. She never lets the situation get the better of her. In “Producers’ she remains the boss to the newbie, Kim Soo hyun! She calls the shots!! No wonder she is considered to be the queen of romantic comedies due to her portrayals in her rom-com dramas.
Lee Kwang-soo in “Innocent Man” as Joon ki’s friend & here as the flatmate of Gong Hyo-jin is equally interesting. His smile just glows & his towering height is unmistakable. He won the Popular star award for the show.
D.O. as Han Kang woo keeps on meeting Jo in sung with his problems. He is often beaten by his father & is bleeding. But is encouraged to fight for himself. Two years later he appeared in ‘100 days my prince’ in the lead role.
Sung Dong -il as the doctor residing with two more inmates or flatmates is his usual self. He never disappoints. “Reply series’, “Moon lovers”,’The K2′, ‘Legend of the blue sea’,’Prison Playbook’,’Hospital Playlist 1 & 2′ to name a few. His presence is comfortable, lively & just someone you know so well.
Lee Sung -kyung as a school girl is a surprise. Fresh & yet to be cast as the lead, she has the confidence to go to Gong’s room & put on her bracelet, apply lipstick! She is a newbie but with lots of charm. She asks Jo in sung to buy her cigarettes.It reminds of when Ji chang wook is asked to buy cigarettes by Kim Yoo jung. That scene was outrageous. But similar scenes have been shot earlier.
Jin Kyeong as Dong min’s ex-wife is again a usual. She doesn’t have to really act. It is second nature to her. She moves in the hospital as easily. She has won a special award, Actress in a mini-series, for this show.
Gradually the leads are falling for each other. More they resist, more the entanglement.
