The Indian film festival of Melbourne 2021 went virtual & we lost a chance to see the stars walking on the red carpet. We also missed on the curtain raisers & the live performances. We do like them dancing on the old film songs or some not so funny cracks on the industry.
The would be winners have been announced & the galaxy of stars is awesome. Vidya Balan, Pankaj Tripathi, Manoj Bajpayee, Suriya, Samantha Akkineni among others. Vidya Balan starrer ‘Sherni’,anthology ‘Ludo’, Soorarai Pottru featuring Suriya & Biswajeet Bora’s directorial ‘God on the balcony’ have been nominated for the top honours.
On 20th the winners were declared. Best performance female.. Vidya Balan, honorable mention to Nimisha Sajayan for ‘The great Indian Kitchen’. Best series.. Mirzapur season 2, Best actor & actress in series … Family Man 2 , Manoj Bajpayee & Samantha Akkineni. The viewers had already applauded for them & the choice was perfect.
Recognising the web series in the awards from now on is an achievement in itself. Way to go! It also gives me my to watch list, ready!
