A 2021 Hindi Film is a comedy drama. It is a remake of Marathi film”Mala Aai Vhaychay” made in 2011 by Samruddhi Porey.The film stars Kriti Sanon as the surrogate mother for a foreign couple.

John & Summer, an American couple come visiting to Rajasthan in search of a surrogate mother. They come across Mimi a local Dancer. Mimi who aspires to be a Bollywood actress but has no money to pursue her dream, agrees for the 20 lakha offered.

A few weeks later a routine check up reveals that Mimi’s unborn child has Down’s Syndrome. Hearing that the couple advices her to abort the child & flee to America. Mimi is left with the unborn child. She decides to come clean with her family. Her parents are upset with the situation but finally support her.

Bhanu, the driver who comes up with the deal & her friend,Shama are the best supporting roles ever written. They add to the comedy & the pathos as the situation demands.

It is tear jerker at times but the emotions are kept in check with the developments arising. After four years the couple returns to claim their child. But by then everyone has accepted Raj as their family member.

Mimi decides to hand over the child to the biological parents. To send him to US for better future. His parents adopt a girl, Tara & leave Raj behind with his mother!

The entire cast is wonderful. If this is claimed as Kriti’s best role, it is true. She has given the best performance till date. Before & after being the mother is worth watching. A good movie to watch on a Sunday!
