It is a 2019 Indian Hindi language film. It is a family drama directed by Seema Pahwa. It is a star studded film with the members of the family coming together to their ancestral home in Lucknow. For the 13 days after the death of their father, to perform the rites according to the hindu tradition.
It is the old widow who wants her children close. She has often wished they would come over frequently. But then the four sons & the two daughters are busy in their households & ‘Yaha kyon aakar rahega ?” is the main question.
All the ‘bahus’ leave it to their husbands to decide where the mother-in-law will live in the future. The youngest son wishes to take her to his place but she declines. ‘Seema bhi toh hai wahan!’ Suddenly where will his wife go? Because she is an actress & cannot be with them when they want, doesn’t mean she has been slacking off. Konkana again in an impressive role.
It is Seemaji’s film based on her play, Pind Daan. She has made a good film dedicating it to her mentor, Nasiruddin Shah. He appears in a special appearance as the pivotal “Ram Prasad’! The scenes he appears in lift the film inches above.
The sons aren’t doing well & are bothered by the loan yet to be paid back. Their mother finds a way & opens a ‘Sangeet vidyalaya’. Instead of the piano repair now students flock for playing the instruments.
