The next story “Interview” has two people up for the same post. They are given coupons so they know their name will not be called for at least an hour. They go for a plate of “Samosa’ & chai.
The boy has seen that she is well prepared. Her diary is highlighted at many lines & she appears very confident. He plans to get some tips from her. After eating they enter the shop where a salesman is selling a refrigerator. He says it’s the best & that he has one for his family.
Both pose as a couple & go for a TV set. The specs allow them the 3D picture. But instead of the Eiffel tower she is reminded of the past. But he asks the salesgirl all the right questions.
The reach in the nick of time, his number is being announced. He answers confidently. Waiting for her turn she decides to not go in for the interview. Only one post is to be filled.
She had pestered her would- be to find a job. But he had not yet landed with one. One day he disappears. It’s been 10 months now.
They meet again & exchange their numbers. Parting, in the rickshaw she is asked if she would go to the movies with him. His job now will enable him to send money home. It also starts a new friendship.
