Feels like Ishq

I sat & watched the stories, one after the other, in a sequence. The next one ..’Quaranteen Crush’ is about a teen who doesn’t own a cell. So he contacts the girl next door on his mother’s phone. His mother makes dishes & posts them on the Youtube. He helps her to film it & gets into a chat with the girl.

He learns that she doesn’t cook. He delivers the plates saying his mother has made them for her. The boy is so sincere that his spraying the sanitiser on the door, his hands or her hands. He plays the guitar with her on the balcony. He is bad at English. When she says ‘Why is it cool to be good at English?’ he brightens up.

Their ‘across the door friendship’ is so cool. He learns she will be leaving soon. Quarantine is over. While talking she starts coughing. He makes her sit on his bike & rides furiously. Suddenly she asks, if the sabzi yesterday had soya… she is allergic. Without going to the hospital they return with the meds.

Suddenly they have arrived. She asks when are his exams to which he replies in two months. With good marks he is promised a phone of his own. So ‘You can text me then!’ He realises what she is implying & smiles broadly.

Without being bold the treatment is soft, clean without trying to stuff it with details. The simple storyline makes it worth watching. Sikh characters are very rarely cast. This boy has done a very good job.
