The earlier episode ended with Pi-young being aware of her loving husband having an affair. She faints from the shock & when she gets up in the morning she is unable to speak! Being mute makes her reflect on the events happenings & their prologue.
She remains by her mother’s side. She is very sick. She has cancer which has spread all over her body. She has absolutely no chance of survival. The new Pi-young is in tears. She recalls all the words she had thrown at her mother.
Her husband & his step- mother think she is in shock because of the sickness her mother had hidden from her. She cannot eat the strawberry her daughter offers her. Entire life appears an illusion.
Her friends come to know of her sickness. They meet her husband in the lobby of the hospital & he asks them to not meet her. Because she would not be able to talk. This is something I don’t agree to. They should have insisted on meeting her. Friends who meet everyday & share all their woes, happiness need to be close at such times to console.
Reaching home Lee Si-eun realises that maybe she caught on what was going on. Pi-young had denied her husband having an affair. Then her husband confirms that ga bin knows the lady, is actually her friend, A mi. Ga bin also takes her future husband to meet her in the hospital. Dr Shin has shifted her to concentrate on Pi-young & her mother.
Pi-young’s mother passes away. She gets a chance to convey her feelings to her mother. Her mother had been warning her & now her premonition has come true.
Pi-young asking him for divorce was only her dream. Actually she is muted with the shock. For how long we do not know.
Mr Seo meets his brother at golf. He meets Song Won to learn Chinese. But she declines, saying that the evening classes will not be easy for her. Her parents-in -law wish she was with them to celebrate the Lunar new year. Sung Hoon & his wife have decided to stay at a hotel in Busan to celebrate on their own.
It was sad . There was a death. Yet I found the episode very touching & made with care. Small bits like Pi-young shaking off any touch by her husband or conveying her emotions by her eyes only. Suberb.
If I loved her earlier, she made me like her more & wonder how could her husband like someone else after marrying such a fab person! Breaking a marriage with a teenage daughter, having feelings for the step-mom, everything is going to come down. Dr Shin senior needs to witness all. His peace is in having a cool, decent family. But everything is going up in smoke now.
