which lit. Praise of death is a 2018 South Korean series based on true events. It stars Lee Jong-suk & Shin Hye sun. It has only three episodes one hour each.
I had heard about it & when it was suggested I started watching it. It is good. Owing to the true events it has little drama. The story between the two unfolds smoothly. Why do they have to take a drastic step in their lives? If I write more it will be a spoiler.
With ‘Splash splash love’ this a tiny series that stays with you. Gradually I am making myself a Jong suk fan. He is silent, serene, smooth & soft.. much more. He doesn’t mince his words or throws a tantrum, is never loud & yet he is very much there in the center of the events!
The Joseon & Japanese connection is strong. In Tokyo, they meet for the rehearsal of the play. She only sings that is her condition. The lady in the play is played by a man. It is the story of the good old days when the streets were n’t crowded, trams ran & wearing a hat by a lady was fashionable.
Without lingering or slowing the story follows it’s course slowly & surely. Making an impact, naturally.
