The initiation of the freshers is as scary as it is today. The teachers know it is going to be tough but they don’t interfere. The tests they have to complete in time are next to impossible.
One students brings water that his teacher drinks. It is comparatively easy. He goes to the backyard to the well & gets it. All events are happening in the night with torches blazing.
Song Joong-ki is sure that Kim Yoon shik will fail. She is made to bring the under garments of a geisha. The geisha falls for her. Because she gets saved from the minister of war. He is one arrogant man. He looks at Kim Yoon shik & thinks he has seen him somewhere but he doesn’t recollect.
Song Joong ki & the president later visit the geisha but she is not interested in entertaining them. Song Joong ki is more amused & the president is on the boil. He wants to see how long she will resist his advances. He is more angry with Kim Yoon shik who managed to impress the lady!
Lee Sun -joon has to bring the most beautiful lotus. The flower among the flowers. It is the beautiful, marriageable daughter of the minister of war & the sister of the student president. He meets her at her house. But decides to deny meeting her to keep the honor of a noble lady.
He is to be punished but Kim Yoon shik uses his one wish & saves him. Lee Sun -joon asks her for one wish. He is going to grant her one. At night they have to share the dorm with the most notorious student, Moon jae. Gu Yong ha & the other seniors put a bet on him. But he sleeps & nobody leaves the dorm. The bet is lost.
Song Joong ki doesn’t like losing & meets him to warn that he is going to miss the classes he better prepare himself for expulsion. So in the morning he shaves & cleans to attend the lecture. He closes the class room door on Kim Yoon shik, who as it is hesitating to enter.
The lecturer comes with a chamber pot & gives a lesson. All put something in except Lee Sun -joon. The teacher only passes him. He declares all the rest fail. The entire group then goes for a drink. After enjoying, they also make lee Sun joon to drink. He comes there to be with the group.
The seniors harras Kim Yoon shik who then uses his wish & asks Lee Sun joon to leave his dorm & go to the western dorm reserved for the political servants wards. He assures that if he can go by the academy rules his learning will be smoother. His energy will not be wasted on the pranks of the seniors.
It is a period drama & yet has all the elements seen in today’s academies. Nothing has changed. We see more women being educated. But the opportunities are still elusive.
