In ‘Coffee Prince’ we swooned over the Prince, Gong yoo, but his cousin is a real person. Lee Sun Gyun! He has the honesty to tell his girlfriend that he had fallen for Yoon Eun hye for a moment. Also he knows his cousin has a soft spot for his girlfriend, yet he is ok with it. His helping nature,confidence in himself is something I found very novel.
Kim Jae wook my very personal favourite is everything I dislike. Longhair, a pony, hands with so many rings , bracelets & tattoos. A regular punk. Just lovable. This Japanese guy remains a best friend forever to his classmate. She marries the wrong guy.,has a child & is beaten regularly. But wooky remains a friend forever…
Kim Chang wan is the real coffee maker. He is in so many shows & he is there for just a scene. But always shines through… He is the real pal to the Prince. He never advices but never leaves him alone. He recognizes the potential in the young man.
I had planned to write about the various characters who have fascinated me & I am ending up writing about just everyone in ‘Coffee Prince’. The show was one of first for me. Exactly 2 years ago but the feelings I have are still there intact!
A few scenes like when he drops her to her place & she watches his car disappear from her balcony or when they pick up what she has dropped on the streets. Both face each other. His confusion about his feelings for her. Never so amusing, frustrating & depicted so well.
Those actresses who refused the role because they did not want to cut their hair.. Have lost a golden opportunity to assey a role very rarely written so well!
