My Father is Strange

Into the 51st episode & the story is coming to the end. The end is not the surprise but how they have done it. The focus never shifted from the main family.

The brother’s family is pile on, so it remains that. Never hindering the flow. The problems faced by the main family are not unique but handled nicely. The clean cut execution is noteworthy.

Jun hui stands up for his love in front of his mother. He also watches Mi yeong saying things that he would have loved her to say to his face. But are cute but something is missing in their emotions. Aren’t they strong enough? Their parents , her parents & hye yeong’s in-laws have a mature relationship, timetested. Good to see the spouses being there for each other.

Hye young’s relation with her husband blossoms as they come across the hurdle of her father’s identity. Their stand is admirable. “Nut” & ‘Cracker” really crackle together. His shifting to her house, staying apart & being there in the kitchen are small things but which matter in life. His commitment to his marriage & wife is 100 % for sure.

Rae -yeong is also making inroads to the company of her boyfriend. The chairman is dazzled by her selling potential. Both now are in a negotiating position. They form a team. The father would have to accept their terms now. By refusing to break up they showed that they are on the same page.

In the court room Hye yeong declares that the Article is wrong. The Article states that no one will be discriminated in the court of law … on the basis of age, caste, creed , religion, economic condition. But her father had been honest to report a crime but got himself jailed for it. He suffered for it all his life.

She challenges to prove her wrong. She is nervous when she enters the court but her confidence when she is standing & defending her father or facing the reporters in front of the court room was perfect.

As she bows a single tear trickles down her cheek. The end of the episode was perfect. She has managed to have his friend to testify. So she has solid evidence. The retrial should be as we would like it.

But I have been plagued with the thought that the loss of 40 odd years , who is accountable? He may be cleared of all the crimes. Crimes that he did not commit in the first place but isn’t justice delayed, Justice denied??
