My Father is Strange

Strange or Weird would not cover all the sentiments. How can he tolerate the injustice for 35 years is the question. In everyday life we get perturbed by silly things. For days I could not forget that I had given Rs 5 more to the man selling shoes on the cart. Not a day passes when I regret how I could have said some words of encouragement but did not.

We hold back sometimes for no reason atall. People are judgemental but they are warm hearted too. We easily forget the good & remember only that what could have been better. In the process what is really good around us is given a miss.

The 50th episode ends with the lawyer daughter filing for a retrial. She is accompanied by her parents. After ensuring that the witness will testify, it is the right way to proceed. The maturity shown by her & her husband is bang on. From the moment she decides to date him again & let go of the past, it is all in the positive direction.

His parents awarse to the idea of having a daughter-in-law from a humble background are coming around. Knowing about her father’s unique condition they did get upset. But looking at them we realise hey are now working, thinking as a couple. They have forgotten about their differences. Also when the trial is over & the mother has had her surgery, they visit their in-laws. Not so easy to get down from the high horse.

The young couple cemented their marriage & also brought change in the parents. Good to see. When the family discovers that Mi Yeoung is dating Jun hui, the first to pull their leg is the elder sister, Hye- yeong & her husband. It was just like any other family we know of. The parents were visibly shaken but that is a given. The elders have to shoulder the responsibility.

Two more episodes to go. I could understand why the fans wanted to see the proper end. It is good to see his mother appearing at his house. It surprises Mi yeong, who is expecting Jun hui. So all is well.
