Into the 20th episode & the story is getting completed. It is faster than than the Korean version. The misunderstandings between them are much lesser. Better handled. The pace is the same. Without dragging, they decide to part. The male lead also shows remorse.
He knows he could have made an effort. They don’t meet on the airport But meet the second lead, the swimmer. What I suddenly remembered is the lead himself in ‘A little thing called first love’ is a swimmer. He reveals he is not going with her when she comes to him & watches him swim. He could have easily taken her in confidence & told her that! After so many months it still rankles. Whatever the consequences confrontation is a must.
The father’s memorial is slightly different. He is distraught & drives her away. His father had donated his organs. Another reason why he decides to become a Doctor. He will be with her at the same university & graduate together is the main reason.
Dr Li understands that girls have a crush on him. He had prescribed ‘Diazepam’ in good faith. He knows drugs cannot help depression. He has been discussing with the other doctor about ‘doctors without borders’ so his decision is well thought & his resignation a step to move to Africa. It appears very sudden in the Korean version.
The Korean version has the softness expected of Kdramas but the Chinese version is better. The events follow logically & the rawness is more welcome, I believe. He is as upset with the changed scenario as we are. The doctor in the Korean version doesn’t come across as pining for his lost love. It should have been made more obvious.
Sometimes putting your thoughts into words is a must. The other person may not be able to read between the lines! In love, people are blind. They may be deaf at times. So the confession is a must! It doesn’t necessarily mean a huge stone in the ring but plain , simple feelings put in words!
