Shefali Shah is one of those actresses in Hindi cinema that we are proud of. After a minor role in “Rangeela’ she worked in “Satya” opposite Manoj Bajpayee where she was noticed. “Sapne Me milti hai…” as if the song was written for her. In spite of having Urmila in the song, we remember the sari clad doe eyed Shefali with her husband.
A stint in TV with dramas like ‘Hasratein’ she became a face recognised by many. Her transition to the big screen came next.
“The Last Lear”,”Waqt: the race against time’, ‘Gandhi My father’,’Dil Dhadakne do’ brought her awards but not many projects. The quality work done by her is undeniable. She is ready for good work to come.
Her short film ‘Juice’ brings out the frustration of a housewife not getting her due. The party ensuing at her place & she has no time to stop to sip in a glass of juice. She has the film fare for the role. No surprise there.
Recently watching her crime thriller “Delhi Crime” made me aware of her ability. In a lead role she can carry of a drama or a film with ease. Waiting for the season 2 now.
