A short film by Digestive showtime. Around 39 minutes but every minute is worth it. It has a comfortable pace with few characters. The couple is in New York but decides to go to Pakistan. He has work. The daughter-in-law dreads meeting the typical, traditional Saas!
When he goes to Islamabad, they are left alone with Neetu Chacha, the cook. He is in the household for 35 years & knows everything about her mother-in-law. Farah, the mother-in-law teaches in college. She ia very strict & her timetable is fixed.
Sarah, the daughter-in-law gifts her with a smartphone. The mother-in-law states that it is for dumb people! She even plans to keep it in the cupboard & give it away to someone. Without feeling discouraged , Sarah befriends Neetu chacha & gets to know the workings of the house.
She finds Munawar, who had written letters to Farah. Due to Farah’s father they had put an end to their relationship. She confronts Farh & advises to go on a date. As the story progresses it becomes interesting. Without any twists & turns it makes an enjoyable viewing. Uploaded just two months ago it has around 3M views & most of them liking it. Kudos to Sohai Ali Abro , Armughan Hassan & others who brought us a beautiful gift.
It has a nice story put simply. I have always been a big fan of Pakistani TV from the 80s. The recent works like ‘Zindagi Gulzar hai’ or ‘Humsafar’ have good actors & story that we can relate too.
With the modern touch it feels so universal. As the fans say if all the Saas -Bahu could develop a bond like this… the world will be a wonderful place.
