A 2017 Marathi film featuring Chinmayee Sumeet, Amey Wagh, Mithila Palkar, Sachin Khedekar with others. Muramba means sweet, sour jam. For the taste to be perfect it needs to be seasoned & made properly. If the preservation technique fails the taste is less than perfect.
In 2020 the film was remade in Gujrati as Golkeri. The plot is attractive. What could have been better are the dialogues. The relationships rely on the conversations. They must be developed as they do naturally. As hot words are exchanged, tempers flare up they must know when to let go.
Indu & Alok decide to part ways after being in a serious relationship for three years. the basic theme being so relevant to the present, it fails to grab your attention. When you stop & check how long the film is .. means it should have been short. With tighter editing it would have made it gripping.
When the mother says, ‘You were practically living with each other. Only you weren’t married. Having so much freedom yet what went wrong?’ We also wonder what was the problem. Alok is able to see his mistake because of his parents. If the two were left alone , they would have hurt each other & the break up would have been complete. The family comes first. IT is the most important fall back system. It’s very existence is a solace. Unfortunately very few realise it.
Guided by his father when he decides to win back his soulmate, it becomes real. A few scenes of this quality could have made it more lively. A few intimate scenes that we cannot see with our family should have been dropped. We know both the lead actors are good & need not give bold scenes just because it is a this age film!
The handling good could have been better. It looks like it is just missing the point! It needs more thinking. And the execution will be good!
