Vincenzo

The drama ended with a feel good end. He being a killer & a mafia chief now has no clean chit. But he has bought an island near Malta & helping the needy. He comes back with the Italian contingent but cannot stay in Korea. He meets Ms Hong at the cultural center & says he has a room prepared for her at his place. He invites her to his island.

The inmates are all doing well. They are happy & move on in life. How they distributed the gold is not clear but everyone appears happy so all is well.

While watching ‘Nice Guy’ I couldn’t help but compare it with “Vincenzo’. If Vincenzo had not been abandoned by his mother he would be in Korea with his mother living happily. If Kang Ma ru had not taken the blame of killing someone for his girlfriend he would have been happier.

In a sequence when Vincenzo gets beaten, his cheeks have a slight cut & a trickle down his head. But in the next scene he is okay. He should be at least touching his forehead. There is no handy plast also. I know he is great but injuries are injuries!

Aren’t we idolising the wrong people ? I found myself not really disturbed if it was him! Does it give him the licence to kill ?? I wonder.

With the final episode it is ranked 9th among the dramas till date. Also the director Kim Hee won & the main lead Song Joong ki are nominated for the 2021 57th Baeksang Arts award.
