Nice Guy

I go for continuity that is so nicely maintained in the K dramas. In “Nice Guy’ I found too many flaws. In spite of it, it remains with you. When Jae hui sends men to beat Kang Maru, his face & eyes are injured. The swelling on his left eye is different in the very next shot when he meets Eun gi.

He also tells her ‘ I am bored of my Picture perfect face & haven’t applied any medicine.’ In the later scenes he has a band aid on his eye. Why he postpones his brain surgery is an unsolved mystery. His explanations just fall short of believing.

Brain hemorrhage is something very serious. Being a medical student he is aware of his condition. Much later he is admitted to the hospital. nobody is aware of his condition till then, except his dear friend. Eun gi comes to meet him before his surgery. But returns back from the door.

Then he rushes to meet her. Both are waiting for the green light for the pedestrians, when Mi young tries to stab with a knife. Maru recognises him & swings himself so the knife injures his side. Eun gi doesn’t realise he is bleeding even when she spends some time talking to him. He is pressing his side, his coat is drenched yet she gets in the cab & goes home with a promise to talk tomorrow.

He stumbles on the road & collapses. When the cab arrived it was a road with regular traffic but when he starts walking it is a woody path with nobody around. His memory loss could have been with Eun gi if he had been operated timely. The logic defies us. She is then taking care of him by running a small joint. What happens to Taesan is not clear. Both Jae hui & Min young complete their term in the prison.

The impact expected is somewhat lost. He is seen giving her the ring he had planned to long ago. Soft touches make it a true Korean drama yet something is missing.
