Chocolate

I breezed through the last episodes. Why couldn’t they make the entire series this pacy? The poster shows a couple in Greece, they reach there in the end by then for the viewers it is almost the end, of their interest!

The two actors, one is Teo Yoo who is interested in the lead has a short but good role. They need not have killed him. What he wrote in the letter, he could have told his friend on his face! As Jerome in ‘Vagabond’ he is again noticeable.

Min JIn woong as her brother is in a tight spot. He has seen her being abondened by their mother. But he comes back in search of the money he may get from her. But the Hospice changes all, so does he. When he confesses at the police station it is one of the best scenes in the drama.

Continuing with her character her mother calls her at a famous place for steak & makes her pay for it. Some people never change! She doesn’t show remorse that she had made the child wait for hours together at the mall & never bothered to see if she was alive or dead!

So many Korean dishes find their place here. With the recipe, food lovers can make them easily at home. The significance of ‘chocolate’ is stressed too late. A tighter storyline was required. The 16 episodes drag.

The sub plots are better. The director of the Hospice Kim Won -hae is a gem. As Sseuekhi’s father in ‘Reply 1914’ & a double role in “Strong woman Do Bong-soon” ( who will dare to forget him!), A cameo in ‘The Bride of the water God’ as a taxi driver, Nam Do san’s father in “Start up’. In ‘Run on ‘ as the bartender.

He is divorced but his first wife comes back now old & sick. She had left him yet we seem to feel sorry for both. He has remarried & has a son who is living with the grand parents in the States. His second wife has died during child birth.

Yeom Hye ran has an unmistakable style. Her face is so mobile, she doesn’t require a tear to show she is sad. In the ‘Guardian, the lonely & great God’, in ‘Queen for seven days’ with Park Min young,’Prison playbook’ as Yoo Han yang’s mother. But she was excellent as the lawyer in ‘When the Camellia blooms’ & in ‘Hospital playlist’ as Min young’s mother.

Here she is a nurse Ha in the Hospice & comes across a terminally ill patient. Her efforts are excellent. He is none other than Jeon Seok ho, the secretary in ‘Strong girl Do Bong soon’

I felt that the actors would have done abetter job with a good story.
