A recent 2021 psychological thriller with Parineeti Chopra, Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari & Avinash Tiwary is a perfect afternoon flick to be enjoyed on a lazy sunday afternoon. I did just that & was continuously reminded of the 2016 film of Emily Blunt which is based on Paula Hawkin’s novel of the same name.
The Hindi version has a link with the case that her husband has warned about. The big, black car knocking people was the centerpiece. With her thick ‘Kohled ‘ eyes Parineeti looks as she is meant to be!
As a high flyer that her sister is, Parineeti has very little in her kitty. She is almost as talented but has yet to get her role of a lifetime. The song-dance routines don’t do her justice. PC has always been comfortable in the most ridiculous situations. Her smile never falters.
Parineeti was wonderful in her debut film,Ishaqzaade for which she got Filmfare award for the best Debut. Later on did not get what she deserved. Her ‘Kesari’ or “Namaste England” failed to make a ripple. To gain recognition she sang & acted as she went but the initial magic was gone.
Her ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ with Sushant Singh had good scores but the story did not impress the audience. I personally liked her in ‘Daawat-e-Ishq’ but somehow it did not make up to the box office. Her co-star Aditya Roy Kapur was good yet failed to impress the young with his sincerity.
Hoping to see her more with better projects, wishing luck!
