Sylvia

A film by Jnana Prabodhini, an educational group based in Pune. The film explores the relationship between a grandfather & his grandson. Dr Mohan Agashe & Virajas Kulkarni. In his youth, the grandfather had been to London where he met Sylvia. Now she has written a letter to him from Munich. She has planned to visit him on this 25th on the weekend.

The grandson reads the letter & is pondering over this relationship. Was the marriage between his grandparents a lie? Had his grandpa deceived his grandmother? Had he kept his affair hidden from his wife for all these years?

How the old man tries to clean the house & try to go through his old trunk full of memories is like looking at your own grandpa. The grandson then meets with his sister Anu & tries to find answers. She is more at ease with the situation. She asks him to calm down & stop overthinking & over reacting.

Finally they are seen seated in the open terrace & he asks his grandfather to come for a walk. They put up a chit with the cell number so that if Sylvia arrives she can reach them. A letter coming out of the blue & it creates a storm in the household! Beautifully depicted.
