Yesterday watching the 13th episode of ‘Strong Woman Bong Soon’ made me realise that of the shows seen it remains in my memory for the portrayal of the gentle relationship between President Ahn & Bong Soon.
She rescues her friend & loses her super power. Ahn takes her to his place where she falls asleep on the sofa. She wakes up to find him staring at her. ‘Please look at me’ I wonder if these words would be romantic or moving if said by anybody else but they just fit him. ‘I am looking at you.’
‘Please love me’ Again a simple sentence but has profound effect on mere mortals like us. Imploring without crying,begging or getting on knees! ‘I am at present’ There are no music effects nor any actions to reinforce but just that!
The soft scenes without being wordy gets to you more than the running around or loud words. Only exception may be Kim Soo hyun’s ” It’s okay to not be okay” where they profess their feelings on the road shouting to make the other hear. But the situations there are all unusual so it is funny & expected.
“Run On’ has Shin Se-kyung saying the same but when she is completely wasted. All the hidden feelings come to the fore. He is such a simpleton. He is normally at a loss of words but he is clear here. ‘Love me a little’ to which he wonders why it has to be said. ‘I already do.’ The episode ends with so much unsaid & much to anticipate. Tonight it will be clear how they proceed with his being unemployed & her embarrassment over last night.
