Vagabond

I selected this show for several reasons. It is one of the most about show of 2019. Plus it has Shin Sung-rok in it. The lead pair of Lee Seung-gi & Bae Suzy are the main attraction no doubt.

It is an action thriller. The action starts in the opening sequence where Cha Dal-gun is in the desert along with his accomplice & they are aiming at a string of luxurious cars travelling through the desert. One of the car tyre punctures & the occupant lady comes out. She is Bae Suzy. Dal gun or Lee Seung-gi is surprised & lowers his gun.

Then starts the flash back with his nephew travelling to Morocco with the national team. The plane catches fire & there are no survivors. The grieving relatives travel to Morocco. As Dal-gun arrives he watches his nephew’s video on the plane & observes a man. He then remembers seeing this man. So there is a survivor!

He chases after this man. His profession as a stuntman comes handy. (Ha Ji Won in the “Secret Garden” is a stunt woman. One of the best characters on screen!) The chase sequence is breathtaking. The terrorist manages to lose him.

He decides to stay over to kill the terrorist. But the police arrest him as he has fought with one of hotel staff & chased him through the kitchen & put a knife at his throat. One of the organisers manages to bribe & let him out.

Bae Suzy is in NIS & has got the recording from the plane. She requests her friend to see what the man is saying on the phone & with Kevin Kim’s help realises the co-pilot was also helping.

The buying of planes from a certain company is an issue. The rivals have hatched the plan to sabotage & tell the world that their planes are better. The suspense is nicely built up. An interesting viewing for sure.
