After a lull, it perks up at 40th episode. Very little remains to be explored. But the parallels are again very much there. Ha Ji -won has done a brilliant job. She has lived that role. She must have been there for a year at least. If normal dramas are shot for 6 months with 16 or 20 episodes, this 51 episodes with costumes & locations must have been an year atleast.
The emperor Ji Chang Wook has raised his sword & plans to kill his enemy, the Goryeo King, Wang Yoo. Empress Ki is fast approaching. Lets see what happens next. With Baekan & Taltal, the events in the palace become interesting. The Emperor has voices speaking to him & is unpredictable. Ji Chang Wook is at his best. Joo jin-moo as the king has been very good. His stance , attire all become him. His undying spirit is portrayed so well. Little wonder that he got an award.
Ki has yet to reveal that prince Maha is not the emperor’s son. That would surely change the dynamics within the palace. How she deals with the empress & becomes the empress remains to be seen. Also the identity of the leader of the Eagle House is yet to be revealed.
