With Jang Na ra I know what to expect. Her leads then don’t matter at this point. Her craving for a baby is getting to an obsession as she has little time left. She is 39 & her doctor has warned her that she has only 7% chances of getting pregnant naturally.
She is working for a magazine & is continuously surrounded by baby products & talk about babies. She wishes to marry quickly & have a baby. For an ad she wears a prosthetic baby mound & likes it so much. She goes to a mall wearing it with her friends. She is having menstrual cramps which a couple of ladies mistake for contractions. Fortunately she is whisked away by an acquaintance.
She reaches hospital & is taken care of. But her main issue remains. She is holding a list & is searching for a pharmacy. Her friend comes in when she asks,’Will you marry me?’ brings tears. He is shocked but realises she is going through a rough patch. I wonder if any other actress could have handled the scene so well.
Her baby face is her biggest asset. I have watched her in ‘You are my destiny’. When she loses her child, she is withdrawn. It is a marriage of convenience. No child, no marriage. Her pain is too real.
Then in’ The Last Empress’ she doesn’t have a child. But she takes her husband’s child under her wing to raise. The Emperor had wed her because she was his fan but then realises her worth. He falls for her & wishes she had met him earlier. Or they would have met as commoners!
In ‘Happy once again’ she marries Jung Kyung-ho who already has a kid. She is getting into dramas which are family based & having all the undercurrents. She had a marriage bureau, along with her friend, which specialised in remarriages.
I was surprised with the ease with which she moves. At present her mother is asking her to attend her cousin’s wedding. She has brought in a tenant with a kid, so that she hopes that Jang Nara, her daughter will like to raise the kid. She will have someone as she grows old.
I am in the second episode & it is moving in the right direction!
