It has a lovely story line but execution is a problem. Trying to be in your face as many stories are today, it loses the delicate balance between the relationships. If that was explored nicely it had the potential to be more gripping than what it is today.
The grandson runs away from home with money. When he returns back because he has nowhere to go, nobody asks him what he was doing for ten years. He declares now he is a top notch lawyer, all believe him! His first crush is getting married to his brother. She feels awkward around him but he is ok with it! How? Entire film can have only this story & have so many things to say!!
Huma Qureshi is a practicing doctor & her runaway boyfriend is nothing! Kunal Kapoor in his sleek, smooth look has nothing to offer. When dadaji dies, he tries his hand at ‘Chicken Khurana’ that his dadaji had made famous. His girlfriend is there to help him out. She manages her time to be with him after her clinic.
The day he cooks chicken for the entire family & invites them to the ‘Dhabba’, he is in a confessional mode. It catches up & everyone has something to say! His brother jeet is interested in his friend’s widow with a child. This could have been explored more. When we see her for the first time we gather as much but Jeet’s dilema at getting engaged to Huma for the family & loving the other lady could have been more than a couple of scenes.
A film which could have been better.
