After watching the two parts back to back it gives the feeling of roaming through that period. Looking at the singing masteros gathered at Champutai’s it gives us a treat to the ears. Why would people not like the gathering I fail to understand. We love company… they were great but they were also humans. They needed each other for company!
Because they are icons they should behave in such way is asking too much! It is a collage of events & it doesn’t give the entire picture. It serves the most important point that we have his life documented! We are I feel very poor at it. We should appreciate the effort of Mr Mahesh Manjrekar for giving a gift that will last forever & for the future generations.
We may or may not realise his greatness but now that it is documented it can be seen any time. The era bygone can be experienced later & really treasured. Without competition & enjoying each other’s friendship is a thing of past. Acute competition has taken its toll. the stars remain out of reach & away from the common man.
Socialisation brings in the thoughts unknown & today we are confined to our ivory towers! The exchange of thoughts is a rarity. The various gadgets bring news which they want to spread not what you wish to hear!
In a society with set norms we need people like PL Deshpande to show us the mirror. People like him brought humour, simplicity, devotion, dedication to the field of theater, films, plays & the books printed then. They had more admirers than money they amassed during their entire lifetime!
‘Shabdanchya palikadle…’ some people are beyond words. They cannot be confined by words. Never!
