Familiar Wife

Into the fifth episode & it is getting more & more delightful. After the first episode he purposely drives through the toll gate to see if he really travels to the year 2006. He does. he changes the course of events. He doesn’t get involved with Han Ji min on the bus & reaches the concert.

He is now married to his crush with lavish house. He has a car & due to his influential father-in-law he is treated well at his workplace, the bank. But Han Ji min gets transferred there. Now she is his colleague, he finds it disturbing. She is at her best at work but he is continuously anxious.

He follows her to her house. He is in his car & she is on her bicycle. He is standing in front of her gate when she comes from getting her groceries. Her mother recognises him & gives him Kimchi. She asks him to have it with rice & water. She has dementia but she knows her son-in-law. Isn’t the human brain amazing!

He has the riches but he cries when he remembers his kids. The family, the sleepless nights, the chaos at home, the toys lying on the floor, taking care of the kids, he is sorry for them. He had been thinking of himself & getting a pretty wife. He needed a break & a good life!

He has been able to change his wife but when he confronts his familiar wife he doesn’t know how to react! Ji sung has been excellent in his “Kill me, Heal me” & he is so here. As the situation demands his mobile face is able to express all the nuances. He runs so fast & as he is late he has to rush to keep up time.

He stretches for his friend, he can do so effortlessly. His sister, his friend who later becomes his brother-in-law, his parents, friends & colleagues in the bank all form a big family to fill in the background.

His present wife, rich, aloof cannot tolerate her in-laws & they decide to stay at their daughter’s place. Ji Sung is hurt & he yells at her. She leaves & stays in a hotel for thee night. Unless extremes are shown the differences will not stand out. Hoarding the fridge with eatables & then throwing it away. Han Ji min comes from a poor family & knows the value of money.
