Going through the final scenes in ‘Manikarnika’ I was amazed by her beauty once again! Kangana Ranaut as & in the movie, iconic ‘Jhansi ki Rani’ who mardani never emulated by any royalty. She has the looks, poise, grace but needed to direct her venture with experience!
She debuted with ‘Gangster’ with finesse. She never looked the newbie she was. Her performance had the makings of a star always. In ‘Fashion’ she had less footage than Priyanka yet she made the most of it. She was brilliant as the show stopper! ‘Woh Lamhe’,”Life in a Metro’ were good. She had her own screen presence among the rest of her stars.
‘Raaz: the mystery continues’ & ‘Once upon a time in Mumbai’ it was feared she may be typecast but she came back with Madhavan in ‘Tanu weds Manu’ which was much appreciated.
In 2014 she came in ‘Queen’ which got her name,fame & awards. It established her success as not being a fluke. She was seen as a serious contender of good cinema.It followed ‘Tanu weds Manu: Returns’ which is one of biggest earners by a female protagonist.
Her outspoken nature, personal & professional relationships often come under scrutiny. As an outsider she has often come across discrimination but she has always been vocal about it. If she learns to curb her outbursts she can turn out to be one of the finest stars that our Hindi film industry has produced! To know to quit when ahead is very important. Speech is silver but silence is Golden!
