A Date

An Indie feature film, a short film # respect by N Vimalraj is a wonderful film. It explores the relationship between a Delhi girl & a Bangalore boy on a first date. Besides the moment they also whisper for us to know what they are thinking so we are continuously in the loop.

Sites of Bangalore is a plus. The environment around makes us what we are. Our thoughts, actions & predictions are as we have been doing for ages. But sometimes we may come across people that do not fit in our boxes. We are stumped & can’t think further. Then what happens?

It is all about the 24 hours they spend together trying to know each other, in spite of the overt differences. I was reminded of the Marathi film ‘Mumbai Pune Mumbai’ but the girl has come to Pune to find a boy. The boy with her knows she is searching him! So that was different. Only similarity is, the time spent decides the future!

A film I thought has a pace similar to a Korean drama. It is very comfortable without losing touch with the Indianness. The unity in diversity is stressed & without wearing it on the sleeve the individuality of each state is underlined. A simple story can bring out so many facets!
