I am at the last episodes & winding up the loose ends. But my Youtube clip has already revealed the end. So no surprises there. But I am still sympathetic towards the baseball player. The player was competitive & tenacious then than the other fellow. Here too, the player is a better option! I liked the way he approaches the fact that he has to fight till the very end!
‘It is not over till it’s really over!’ so I am again looking for that silver lining or the sliver of hope if anywhere! Before he goes to Japan he makes himself clear. I liked that about him. His brother has advised him to give up which he doesn’t!
Kim Sung-kyun is a great surprise here. Making us believe that he is the college student when he has been a father of the teenage sons! I had specially liked the way he makes his wife smile & is never down or serious! In “Reply 1994” I thought I had seen the face but did not relate!
The parents of the lead are the same. They can carry off any role with their abilities! In the earlier episode when they talk about Yook Sungjae, he is sitting at the next table! They realise & feel very awkward is a scene etched in gold!! On top of it he doesn’t have money to settle his bill & the coach does it for him. Later he sings at their daughter’s wedding.
In “Reply 1988” When Bora goes on a blind date she is hoping to meet Sun Woo, a medical student then. She does meet him but he is not Trash! We meet Trash in Reply 1994! He has asked Sun Woo because something has come up. That something is Na jung’s call. She has broken her shoe heel. They are shown in one scene but she appeared pretty then & I had wondered why she is not seen again. She did in a show entirely her own!
So the two shows have a close connect!
