Today’s actress is Jiah Khan. She was born in New York in 1988 & died in Mumbai in 2013. She debuted in her film, ‘Nishabd ‘in 2007 by Ram Gopal Varma.She was cast opposite Amitabh Bachchan ,which she carried off confidently. A bold subject & much appreciated performances failed to impress the audience. Ram Gopal Varma,a mentor who shaped the career of actresses like Urmila Matondkar. At that moment anyone would envy her luck! She was also nominated for the best debut, only to lose to Deepika Padukone for her performance in ‘OM Shanti Om’.
Then she appeared in Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’ as an independent, modern woman in 2008.Her performance was much appreciated. In 2010 she appeared in “Housefull’ with a star studded cast & one of the highest grossers of all times.
On 3 June 2013 she was found dead in her bedroom in Juhu, Mumbai.Her mother continued to claim the involvement of her boyfriend, Sooraj Pancholi in her death. Five years later he was charged but the case is not yet resolved.

A wonderful career wasted. It was such a short span to make a statement. She did have it in her! What she needed most was time!! All the “W’ questions will have to wait. It is going to be a long wait. But sometime later we may have the answers. God willing!
