The actress Kimi Katkar was one who debuted in 1985. Her “Jane” to Hemant Birje in ‘Adventures of Tarzan’ made her famous. She has acted in almost 50 films but her most memorable number is from ‘Hum’ in 1991, ‘Jumma chumma de de’ where she starred opposite Amitabh Bachchan!

Better known for her films like ‘Mard ki zuban’,’Patthar Dil”Mera Lahoo’,”Vardi’,etc.

She quit the films after her marriage to Shantanu Sheorey in 1992. His first wife was Malvika Tiwari.She settled in Melbourne ,Australia.She has a son, Siddhanth. Kimi was offered ‘Parampara’ by the Yash Raj banner but she refused because she had already decided to quit films after marriage. She also refused ‘King Uncle’ offered in 1992.

She was offered a French movie,”Black” which she refused. The role went to Kitu Gidwani.

She was born in Mumbai, in December 1965.Her mother Tina Katkar was associated with the film industry. Kimi was a former actress & model, who acted in films opposite Govinda,Sanjay Dutt, and others in the 80s. Throughout her career, she had bold dresses & dance numbers that were not a norm then.

Today she is still remembered for her role in ‘Hum’ which had Govinda,Rajnikant,Deepa Sahi along with Amitabh Bachchan of course!
