A 2010 film with Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia,Sunil Shetty & others. Dimple runs an old cafe,’Lucky cafe’ which a large chain plans to take over. It is centrally located & tons of money is offered. But is everything in terms of money only??
I had seen ‘Maska’ which has Manisha Koirala running the cafe which her son wishes to sell for some money. He wants to make a career in films. But the characters were few & the plot was much tighter.
Here due to three stories running simultaneously it becomes difficult to concentrate. Big stars like Nana & Dimple fail to keep you reverted to your seats. The tussle in the court is too brief, if that was the main point in winning back the cafe it should have begun earlier. Lot of time wasted in introducing the characters, the story , the flow takes a back seat.
The message is loud & clear, the old need to be respected. Because they have lost their prime today does not make them useless.The time could have been better utilised.
