The unusual heroes..

Going through the list of the unusual heroes in the K- dramas I realised that I have seen all ,except one. So I began with the drama which had been on my list for too long! ‘Reply 1988’ a throwback on the 80s without net & cell phones. It was as if I am living that period.It should have been ‘Replay 1988’!

The hero in ‘Something in the Rain’ is the first one. Jung Hae in is in his 20s & his partner Son Ye jin is in her 30s. She is actually his sister’s friend. So naturally her family disapproves of their affair(if I may call it that!). But he shows maturity beyond his years & does every thing to protect her. Literally taking blows of her mother physically shielding her! Such a hero who will not fall for.

The next one is from “Crash landing on you” captain Ri ie Hyun Bin who is a man of few words but his actions speak volumes. When needed he is one of those most reliable. He also takes in a bullet for his love. Again Son ye jin! I wonder who she likes more. Getting the best of dramas & the lead with the most handsome men!

Then is the hero of ‘What’s wrong with secretary Kim?’. Even we wonder why is she quitting her job. So as a perfect solution he offers to marry her to our utmost surprise! He totally works to woo her & keep his promise. A man known for being a perfectionist & a workaholic tries to be her ideal better half. Park Min Young excels in the role but her co-star is even better!(if that is possible)Park seo joon in a unforgettable role.

Next is our today’s star Kim Soo hyun in “It’s okay to not be okay” where is is up against so many issues. Yet he manages to handle all with ease. He also protects his childhood sweetheart who appears to be heartless & is ruthless. He is a solid pillar to his older brother who needs him constantly. An unusual hero alright.

Finally the hero of ‘Reply 1988’, now of the three boys she marries one. That is clear at the end of the first episode but what is he really is not easy. The identity is unknown so the mystery remains. All of them have a soft corner for her. Maybe its Park Bo Gum. But he is yet in the high school & he is yet to cast as a hero! The families are so natural that it feels like peeping into those households. Of the three in the series this is the first one. It revolves around the time of the Seoul Olympics.
