Phir Se..

A film about two people who are divorced & find each other when they least expect it. Jennifer Winget has come a long way from being only a pretty face to emoting. Her face reflects her pain & her almost no make up face is ideal. As for Kunal Kohli he is good as always. His roles are always such soft, supportive & having subtle overtures. He has also directed this film.

Rajit Kapoor & Dalip Tahil as his parents are superb. Her parents Kawaljeet Singh & Sushmita Mukherjee are perfect. Only regret is Sumona Chakravarti, who should have a better role. Why is she in a supportive role always? She is a fine actress & needs a meatier role. She is suddenly dumped when things start going well for the lead pair. I almost had the same feeling when Karishma was suddenly not there on scene in “Dil to Pagal hai”. The main heroine had to be introduced Madhuri Dixit but that did not require the other’s exit!

The love comes easily to their lives but the planning for the wedding gets on their nerves & they have their first real fight. They decide to part their ways before it is late & she goes to Amritsar with her parents. He is in London with his parents. They then sit together & tell him that they have never had a fight in the last 30 years that they have been together. The hard times instead strengthened their bond.” It means you never loved her, how could you let her go? ” These two lines are the gist of the film. It could have been shorter & crispier. But still has its good points.
