Finally finished with Nokdu, a good end. Around the 13-14 episode I had a feel that it is going to be depressing but then with a sudden change in the events the end comes as well wrapped. The revolt by the nephew with the help of Nokdu is about to end well. Suddenly the King appears on the scene & the calculations go wrong. Nokdu with his beloved are helped by the Queen & they escape the palace.
They have each other & the throne was never the dream. But being the only heir it was apparent that people had expectations. They plead with the queen but she chooses to stand by her husband. Wounded & a long way from the boat, she decides to bargain with the prince & follows him to the palace. Now Nokdu is free. But she is miserable. She has lost her aim & the only one she loves is not around!
Nokdu heals & comes back for her. The prince has lost hope to win her over & asks his people to let them be. So now the chase is off & they stay on the island with the close family. Luckily his father,brother are safe, no unnecessary sacrifices made. Nokdu gets married in a simple ceremony. After 9 years the King is dethroned, the queen leaves for Nokdu’s island! All ends well.
